A-NERR Chiller Replacement

Subtask 1: Preliminary Evaluation

1A – CPH will gather the floor plans for the existing condition from the design

1B – Site Evaluation – (1) Site Visit to observe the existing Chiller installation. CPH will also verify and document (as necessary) any deviations from the plan condition. Goals include documenting existing valve system, piping, and pump system for preparation of new work.

Deliverable:

1B – Communication to Owner regarding any deviations found on site that relate to the new chiller scope. Site conditions, including any deviations will be documented in the deliverables for Subtask 2.

Subtask 2: Selection of Replacement Chiller

2A – CPH will evaluate the Chiller’s connected load. The result of this evaluation will be a determination of the Chiller’s tonnage (sizing).

2B – Based on the determination of the existing demand load, CPH will specify a replacement Chiller that provides a level of redundancy. Redundancy is planned to be accomplished through dual compressors. CPH will work with the Owner to determine the appropriate balance of redundancy capacity and energy savings.

2C – CPH will provide code compliant construction documents for the installation of the replacement Chiller. 100% Construction Documents including Sheet Specifications will be provided for Mechanical and Electrical.

Deliverable:

2A – Communication with Owner (email or phone) of Chiller tonnage.

2B – Communication with Owner (email or phone) to discuss tradeoff and balance between percentage redundancy and energy savings opportunities for the site.

2C – Five (5) hard copy signed/sealed sets of Final Construction Plans. PDF file copies of Opinion of Probable Cost (OPC). CD containing final CAD Drawings. Submittal review for the new Chiller is anticipated to be minimal and is included in this subtask.

Performance Measure: Deliverables will be reviewed by the Department to confirm they are complete, accurate, and timely.
