Question #1: Spec Section 08 17 00: This specification section references a specific door #B360A. We cannot find this door on the Door Schedule or can we find it on the architectural drawings for any of the 54 data and electrical rooms. Does this spec. section and door number apply to this project?

Answer #1: The door number in the 08 17 00 specification section is incorrect. The Door should be listed as #B306A.

Question #2: Specifications call for 240-minute discharge time for the UPS however most of these EHRM projects call for 10 minutes. If we provided a 240-minute runtime we would need a large room to store all the batteries.

Answer #2: Provide minimum 10 minute discharge time.

Question #3: Drawings show an 80 kW UPS and specifications call for a 150 kW UPS.

Please let us know which is correct.

Answer #3: 80 kW

Question #4: Per the requirements for the flooring, it appears all moisture testing is required (calcium chloride, relative humidity and ph testing) as well as all potential contaminants including adhesives mechanically removed down to the slab. If moisture is found, mitigation and leveling or patching is required. Is this accurate for the scope?

Answer #4: PH Testing required on all floors with slab on grade only. Mitigate as necessary.

Question #5: I can make a full system recommendation including primer, moisture mitigation, self-leveling and patching compound based on the specifications, and I can provide a full system drawing and spec. We have successful VA and hospital project references. If I provide this system spec, can it be included in the project for the basis of design?

Answer #5: Contractor to use a system of their choosing for BOD and submit in shop drawings. No BOD is currently stated.

Question #6: Asbestos – we manufacture primers and self-leveling underlayments that are approved for use over well bonded asbestos adhesives and tile. If these products can help avoid abatement, is this something that would help you?

Answer #6: All asbestos and/or lead paint that is noted on the contract documents to be removed or discovered as part of the work is required to be abated and removed from the site following all abatement procedures listed in the asbestos abatement specifications. No products that leave the asbestos or lead paint in place will be approved.

Question #7: Electrical: Not all C-stack re-cabling drawings identify the need to NOT re-cable.

Is it the intent for the C-stack closets that no new Category cabling will be installed and no new fiber will be installed for primary or redundant paths?

Answer #7: C-stack is intended to be decommissioned with regards to OIT equipment. All cabling called for to be re-pulled at the c-stack vicinity is to be pulled to B-Stack.

Question #8: Upon reviewing the RFP, I noticed that while it specifies the installation of safety window film on the interior face of glazing, the provided documentation does not include window elevations, a schedule, dimensions, or specific details on where the window film should be applied throughout the building.

Window Dimensions: Are there elevations or a window schedule available that provide the height and dimensions of the windows requiring film?

Film Placement: Should the window film be applied to all windows, or only certain locations? If so, could you specify where the safety window film is required?

Answer #8:

Window Dimensions: See Sheet 6/ A-601 for referencing window film. Window film is listed on A-602. Where window film is applicable is noted by a keynote per location. Contractor to verify size. The Contractor shall provide 175 SF of window film for the project. The TR rooms that require window film are: Bldg 1 - L133 (80 SF); Bldg 2 - 210 (20 SF); Bldg 15 - 15-2 (24 SF);

Bldg 28 - F224A (51 SF).

Film Placement:: See Sheet 6/ A-601 for referencing window film. Window film is listed on A-

602. Where window film is applicable is noted by a keynote per location. Contractor to verify size. All windows in the TR room(s) shall be covered with film.

Question #9: Could we have a better location of Rooms AB23 - 1W, CB07 – 1W, A180 – 1W and A752 – 1W which all are listed on Drawing G-108? We cannot find them on the Tele-Com detail drawings. We did find a CB07 – 1E detail drawing but not for 1W.

Answer #9: On sheet G-008:

CB07 is in 1E, reference 1E.ET401.

AB23 is in 1W - No scope of work.

A180 is in B28 and is the MCR, reference 28.ET411

A752 is erroneous, should be A753, reference 1W.ET471

Question #10: Exterior Security Grill Detail 6/A-601 did not establish intent for vertical & horizontal bar spacings. (The RFI 11 response does not clarify this matter.)

Please clarify bar spacings.

Please clarify final product coatings.

Please confirm bidders shall scale and bid in a budgetary manner for this grillage.

Answer #10: The bar spacing shall be 2" both horizontally and vertically. The grille shall be made from a material that can be exposed to northern climates, stainless steel, galvanized metal (painted) or aluminum.

Question #11: The specs only call for fire cabinets, there is no information on the extinguisher type and size. We need to know the type and size of fire extinguisher that will accommodate the cabinets.

Answer #11: The fire extinguisher cabinet shall accommodate a 20 LB, "Clean Agent" type extinguisher. The wall mount option should use the same type & size extinguisher.

Question #12: Sheet 1E.A-402, note callout #7, states for a new wall mounted fire extinguisher but the drawing show a cabinet at the tagged location. Can you confirm that only fire cabinets are desired or are fire extinguishers desired too.

Answer #12: Wall bracket type mounted fire extinguishers shall be used in all existing CMU wall type applications. If a fire extinguisher is shown on a new wall (or an existing metal stud wall,) then a cabinet shall be used.

Question #13: Sheet 1E.A-402, note callout #7, states for a new wall mounted fire extinguisher but the drawing show a cabinet at the tagged location. Can you confirm that this callout is correct or not?

Answer #13: The note 7 is correct. This should be a wall mounted, bracket type, fire extinguisher and not a cabinet.

Question #14: Drawing 1.G-124: Says to repull cables to new F224A TR. How many cables?

Answer #14: Bid 480 total at a length of 295'-0".

Question #15: Does existing CAT6A cabling that is getting re-terminated need to be re-terminated on new patch panels? Or use existing?

Answer #15: Existing patch panels can be re-used.

Question #16: 28. PROVIDE 12 PORT WALL MOUNTED COPPER PATCH PANEL I THE

EXISTING TR/FACILITY ROOM AND ANOTHER 12 PORT IN EACH NEW TR AND RUN 12-

4PR CAT 6A CABLE BETWEEN THESE TR'S TERMINATE AND TEST, LABEL EACH PORT.

Clarify where this is needed, in the new A stack, or all TR's ? What is considered the existing TR/facility room?

Answer #16: This is needed everywhere there is an existing TR/Facility room that is being abandoned (for instance A stack and C stack). TR/Facility room is all rooms where there is an existing OIT switch providing network connectivity.

Question #17: Does OM4 and OS1 fibers need to be indoor/outdoor or is indoor acceptable for fibers that do not leave the main building?

Answer #17: Indoor is acceptable.
