About this file
This is a Bid Bond form for the Azusa Unified School District relating to a construction project at Victor Hodge Elementary School, located at 700 West 11th Street, Azusa, California 91702. The bond secures a bidder's commitment to enter into a contract for the installation of a walk-in refrigerator. The form requires the principal and surety to jointly and severally bind themselves to the District in a specified bond amount. If the bid is rejected or if the bidder accepts the contract and executes all required agreements, including performance and payment bonds, within five calendar days of acceptance, the bid bond obligation becomes void. The document establishes that any changes, extensions, alterations, or additions to contract terms do not affect the surety's obligation under the bond, and the surety waives notice of such modifications.
Surety companies executing bonds must possess a certificate of authority from the California Insurance Commissioner to write surety insurance as defined in California Insurance Code section 105. If the project is financed in whole or in part with federal grant or loan funds, the surety must appear on the Treasury Department's current list per Circular 570. The bid form is accompanied by mandatory supporting documentation including a list of completed projects, designations of subcontractors, references from K-12 public school districts, lists of current and completed modernization projects, disabled veteran business enterprise participation statements, payment and performance bonds, insurance documents with minimum aggregate coverage of $2,000,000 per occurrence and $1,000,000 pollution liability, and contractor certifications regarding background checks and compliance requirements.
