About this file
This is an Addendum 1 specification document for the Hodge Elementary Refrigerator project, a walk-in refrigerator unit replacement at Victor Hodge Elementary School located at 700 W. 11th Street, Azusa, California. The document outlines the general contractor's responsibilities for restoring all affected surrounding walls and floor areas following the complete removal of the existing walk-in unit. The restoration work must be completed prior to installation of the new walk-in unit and must achieve code-compliant conditions suitable for a commercial food-service environment in accordance with applicable local, state, and health and sanitation codes. The scope includes evaluation and repair of the concrete slab to address surface deterioration, cracks, joints, voids, existing penetrations, floor slope, and drainage conditions. Upon completion of floor repairs, the general contractor must seal the concrete floor with a health department code-compliant epoxy coating that is continuous, non-porous, and suitable for food-service sanitation requirements.
The contractor is responsible for repairing or replacing all damaged wall materials, including drywall, resulting from the demolition and removal of the existing walk-in unit, restoring wall surfaces to a smooth, durable condition appropriate for food-service use. The general contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, and coordination necessary to complete both wall and floor restoration work. Any deficiencies identified prior to installation of the new walk-in unit must be corrected at no additional cost to the district. The contractor is required to provide signed and sealed drawings as needed to obtain appropriate permits from the building department. All restoration work must comply with applicable health, safety, sanitation, building, and health department codes regarding cleanability, durability, and moisture resistance.
