About this file
This document is a technical specification for the fabrication and installation of stoplog guides for the Hyrum Dam Spillway Replacement project in Utah. The key details are:
The stoplog guides are structural steel components that are to be fabricated in accordance with ASTM and AWS standards. The fabricated guides will be embedded in concrete as part of the new spillway construction. Specific requirements are provided for the steel materials, fasteners, welding, finishes, and inspection/acceptance criteria. The stoplog guides will be part of the overall Hyrum Dam Spillway Replacement project, which is described in the related federal contract opportunity. That project involves the construction of a new reinforced concrete spillway, associated mechanical/electrical features, earthwork, and roadway work, with an anticipated performance period from March 2025 through January 2029. The contracting agency is the Department of Interior's Bureau of Reclamation.
