About this file
This document is a technical specification for drain pipes that are part of the Hyrum Dam Spillway Replacement project in Utah. It details the measurement and payment terms, reference standards, submittal requirements, and installation procedures for various sizes and types of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) drain pipes, including perforated and non-perforated varieties, as well as cleanouts, air vents, and outfall screens. Key requirements include:
- Pipe material and joint specifications, including AASHTO and ASTM standards
- Submittal requirements such as pipe data, installation plan, testing and video inspection plan, and material certifications
- Pipe installation procedures, including handling, joining, protecting, and cleaning requirements
- Video inspection requirements at different stages of installation
- Provisions for pipe crossings and backfilling near pipes
The drain pipes are part of the larger Hyrum Dam Spillway Replacement project, which involves constructing a new reinforced concrete spillway, associated mechanical and electrical features, drainage systems, and other civil infrastructure. The anticipated performance period for this project is March 2025 through January 2029.
