About this file
This document appears to be a technical drawing for pipe guardrails, including elevation, sections, and details. It provides specifications for the construction of top-mounted pipe guardrails, including dimensions, materials, and installation requirements. Key details include:
The drawing shows the standard design for 1.5-inch and 2.5-inch diameter steel pipe guardrails, with required dimensions, anchoring methods, chain details, and guidance on splicing and welding. It specifies galvanizing of all ferrous metalwork and the use of expansion joints. The drawing notes that contractors should coordinate guardrail lengths and placement with the structure drawings. Overall, this appears to be a standard technical design reference for pipe guardrail installations that could be used in association with a federal construction project, but the document does not directly address any specific contract opportunity.

2. Galvanize all ferrous metalwork after fabrication. Provide vent holes as required in bottom of pipe.
3. All material is steel unless otherwise noted.
4. Splice guardrail as required with splice locks. Provide splice lock suitable for expansion joint at 50 foot centers maximum and at expansion joints in concrete.
5. Contractor determines guardrail lengths based on dimensions of structures. See structure drawings for location and extent of guardrails.
6. Grind all welds smooth.
7. Details, welds, and other connections shown are typical for all similar conditions.
8.
"Ø Galvanized chain with maximum sag of 2-inches. Provide "S" hook and heavy duty swivel snap at one end. Weld single chain link to opposite end post or return.
