About this file
This document is a supplemental contract requirements notice establishing COVID-19 safety protocols for federal contractors working at Veterans Health Administration (VHA) facilities.
Contractor employees who work in or travel to VHA locations must comply with vaccination documentation requirements or, if unvaccinated with approved medical or religious exceptions, must provide negative COVID-19 test results dated within three calendar days prior to entry. Acceptable proof of vaccination includes a signed immunization record from a healthcare provider or pharmacy, a CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card, or medical records documenting vaccination. All documentation must be maintained by the contractor (not collected by VA) and kept available for inspection by Contracting Officer Representatives or hospital personnel prior to and after facility entry. Additionally, contractor employees are subject to daily COVID-19 screening and may be denied facility entry if they fail screening protocols. Employees working away from VA locations but having direct patient contact must self-screen daily using the COVID-19 Screening Tool in coordination with their workplace COVID-19 safety coordinator. Contractors must adhere to federal laws protecting employee health information and personally identifiable information throughout all compliance activities. If contract performance is jeopardized due to employees being denied entry to VA facilities, the contractor must immediately notify their Contracting Officer or Contracting Officer Representative.
