About this opportunity
The City of Nashville, Georgia, located in Berrien County, is soliciting sealed bids for street and drainage improvements to Virginia Street totaling 0.145 miles, funded through the county's FY 2024 and FY 2025 Local Maintenance & Improvements Grant (LMIG) funds. The procurement requires bidders to furnish all materials, labor, tools, equipment, and incidentals necessary for the complete installation and improvement of the designated street and drainage infrastructure. All bidders must be either currently Prequalified Contractors with the Georgia Department of Transportation Office of Contract Administration or obtain written approval from the Owner prior to bid opening, and must obtain the bid package from the Engineer (Stonewide Engineering, Inc., located at 516 East Ashley Street, Douglas, Georgia 31533) at a cost of $200.00 per printed set or $50.00 for emailed PDF versions. Sealed bids will be received until 11:00 a.m. local time on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at City of Nashville City Hall, with proposals to be mailed or delivered to Amanda Thacker, City Clerk, at 405 West Washington Avenue, P.O. Box 495, Nashville, Georgia 31639. Bidders are required to acknowledge receipt of Addendum No. 1 (which rescheduled the bid opening from the original April 7, 2026 date) by signing and faxing a copy to 912-383-6895 (Attn: Mark) prior to 9:00 a.m. on May 19, 2026, or risk rejection of their bid. The project evaluation will be conducted on a low-bid basis, and all work must be completed within 180 consecutive calendar days from the notice to proceed, in compliance with the Georgia Department of Transportation Standard Specifications, 2021 Edition, and applicable 2024 Supplemental Specifications.
All proposals must be accompanied by a Bid Bond in favor of the City of Nashville equal to at least five percent (5%) of the lump sum bid amount, with the successful bidder required to execute a Performance Bond equal to 100 percent of the contract amount and a Payment Bond equal to 100 percent of the contract amount within ten days of notification of award. The Bid Bond will be forfeited as liquidated damages if the bidder fails to execute the Contract and provide the required bonds within the specified timeframe. The procurement contains no specific set-aside designations or restrictions on organization types; however, the qualification requirement for Georgia Department of Transportation Prequalification or written Owner approval effectively establishes a baseline contractor capability threshold. The City of Nashville City Council reserves the right to reject all bids and waive informalities in the selection process, and bids cannot be withdrawn for 60 days after opening. No incumbent vendors or current contractor information is listed in the solicitation documents. The estimated budget or award value range for this project has not been disclosed in the available documentation.
