About this opportunity

The Madison County Board of Commissioners is seeking sealed bids for the 2025 Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant (LMIG) Road Project, identified as Sealed Bid #25-02. The procurement involves comprehensive road maintenance and improvement work across multiple county road segments, including patching, Open-Graded Intermediate (OGI) layer application, asphalt overlay, and road striping. Specific project requirements include traffic control, recycled asphalt concrete patching with bituminous material and hydrated lime, OGI work, 9.5mm Type 2 asphalt application, tack coating, and pavement marking. The project encompasses various road segments with work specifications detailing 6,200 tons of recycled asphalt concrete patching, 10,600 tons of OGI, 1,500 tons of 9.5mm Type 2 asphalt, 18,000 gallons of tack coat, and 2.70 centerline miles of striping. Bid submissions are due by February 28, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with bid opening scheduled for the same time in the Public Meeting Room at the Government Complex. Bidders must submit two original hard copies and include a 10% bid bond, 100% Performance Bond, and O.C.G.A 13-10-91 E-Verify Affidavit to be considered.

The procurement does not explicitly outline specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises. Contractors must follow Georgia 2013 Standards Specifications and Special Provisions, with work mandated to begin within 45 days of Notice to Proceed and paving completion required by May 23, 2025, with striping to be finished by July 31, 2025. A daily non-refundable deduction of $500 will be applied for work not completed by specified dates. While no specific budget range is detailed, the project involves significant road infrastructure improvements across multiple road segments. The bid requires independent laboratory testing, with final payment contingent on test results provided to Madison County. Interested parties can obtain specifications and bid packets from the County Road Department at 1501 Highway 98 West in Danielsville, Georgia, and can contact Alan Lapczynski, Public Works Director, at 706-795-6260 for additional information.
