Grounds areas are segregated into the following categories: Improved Grounds, Semi-improved Grounds, and Unimproved Grounds. Grounds categories are in indicated in the Installation Grounds Maps referenced in Technical Exhibit (TE) 2.1 RIA Grounds Maintenance Maps, East and West. Improved Grounds are those areas that encompass buildings and facilities and include lawn areas, landscaped areas, ornamental bushes, and trees. There are approximately 75 acres of Improved Grounds on RIA (30 acres of AFH). Semi-improved Grounds are those areas that include levees and less populated areas of the installation. Activities on this category of grounds normally include mowing, trimming, tree removal, tree pruning and drainage maintenance. There are approximately 58 acres of Semi-improved Grounds on RIA. Unimproved Grounds are those areas that are located on or about the perimeter of the Installation and include natural grass, brush, and trees. Activities in this area include only mowing and trimming for fence clear zones and monitoring wells, tree removal and drainage maintenance.

There are approximately 163 acres of Unimproved Grounds on RIA. There are approximately 6,000 linear feet of security fence and 43 monitoring wells on

Unimproved Grounds. The Contractor shall have no grounds maintenance responsibilities for Hardstand and Prairie Grass areas as depicted in TE 2.1 E and W.
