About this file
This document is a Task Group Instruction (TGI) for cleaning the lube oil sump tank level indicator on the USS Blue Ridge (LCC-19), scheduled for performance between January 12, 2026, and May 15, 2027. The detailed instruction specifies a precise multi-step procedure for disconnecting, cleaning, and reconnecting the tank level indicator in the Engine Room, with strict cleanliness requirements (Cleanliness Level II for piping system/equipment).
The task involves several specific steps, including notifying the Ship's Engineering Officer, establishing a clean work area, mechanically disconnecting the existing tank level indicator, cleaning to eliminate float sticking, and conducting a final joint inspection. SRF-JRMC (Shore Repair Facility - Japan Maintenance Command) will provide support services including crane and rigging, utility services (electrical, air, water, steam), safety inspections, and quality assurance inspections. The instruction references multiple technical documents and drawings for guidance, and includes a material list with a rubber sheet specified for the job.
