About this file
This document is a Task Group Instruction (TGI) for cleaning and repairing the Lube Oil Storage Tank 1C on the USS BLUE RIDGE (LCC-19), located in the Engine Room. The work involves comprehensive tank maintenance including welding repairs, plate replacements, and surface treatments. Specific tasks include:
Detailed repair requirements include vee-out and welding one linear foot of deteriorated welds, base metal weld buildup of 60 square inches, removal and replacement of 10 square feet of deteriorated plate, and 4 linear feet of defective stiffener. Additional requirements involve Level II general cleaning, manhole cover installation, and applying specified paint coatings. The work is to be performed between 1/12/2026 and 5/15/2027, with special considerations for fire zone boundaries and potential lead hazards. The task is part of a larger naval maintenance project for the USS BLUE RIDGE at Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka (CFAY) Naval Base in Japan.
