About this file

This document is a specification for a Super Tandem Axle Dump Truck with a 15-foot body for use in the Illinois Department of Transportation's highway maintenance operations. The specification outlines the requirements for the chassis, engine, transmission, axles, suspension, brakes, electrical system, and other key components. It also details the specifications for the dump body, including the construction, capacity, and accessories. Additionally, the document covers the requirements for specialized equipment such as the hydraulic system, pre-wet system, and ground speed control system. The trucks may be required to perform in adverse and emergency conditions, so compliance with the specifications is essential.

The document also includes requirements for the finish and corrosion protection of the trucks, as well as the warranty coverage for the complete truck and its major components. Vendors are required to provide training and support for the equipment, and the contract will be awarded to the successful bidder. The trucks will be used by the Illinois Department of Transportation for its snow removal and maintenance operations.
