Heavy Duty Under-body Scraper:
The Underbody Scraper shall be extra heavy duty design for year round use, capable of handling snow pack and ice at various speeds in the winter season. It shall also be used for shoulder maintenance throughout the year.
Moldboard:
Moldboard 10' long x 15 1/2" in height x 1” thick produced from high-carbon steel, punched for standard USS blades. The moldboard shall have a double offset to provide support for the cutting edge. The moldboard shall be bolted to the hanger board assembly, welding pivots directly to the moldboard is not acceptable.
| Complies: |_| Yes | |_| No |
| Describe Dimensions: |
The cutting edge shall be ½” x 6” x 10’ AASHTO top punch, double beveled.
Complies: |_| Yes |_| No The moldboard shall have a minimum of (5) anchor points and hinges. They shall be 2 1/8” O.D. with a 5/16” wall thickness mechanical tubing and a hinge shaft minimum diameter of 1 1/2”. The hinge shaft will be a minimum of 101” long and greaseable at all anchor points.
Complies: |_| Yes |_| No Circle:
Circle assembly shall be one (1)-piece design with a minimum thickness of 1". The center pivot shall be 5” diameter with a heat treated hardened ring welded in the center of the circle to help prevent wear. A 5” diameter pin will be used and attached with (3) ¾” bolts. The 5” pin will extend into the hanger board and provide a full 5” pilot to eliminate a shear on the (3) ¾” bolts. The pin will be greaseable as well. The circle hold downs shall be approximately 20” long by 7” deep and shaped to follow the contour of the circle. They shall be attached as close to the circle and possible. There shall be a 3/8” UHMW poly block located under the hold down block to work as a wear plate.
Complies: |_| Yes |_| No Actuation:
The moldboard actuation (curl) shall be accomplished using two 4” x 8” cylinders with 2” socatri 1000 corrosion resistant cylinder rods. The cylinders will be located between four (4) heavy duty shock absorbers to help cushion the moldboard.
Complies: |_| Yes |_| No
The angle of the scraper blade shall be hydraulically adjustable using two (2) 4” x 12” hydraulic cylinders. These cylinders shall have 2” diameter socatri 1000 corrosion resistant cylinder rods. The cylinders will provide a hydraulic lock for holding the moldboard in place while in use. Multi-plowing positions shall be maintained hydraulically.
Complies: |_| Yes |_| No
Hydraulics:
A cushion relief valve will be installed externally or in the valve section to help prevent damage if an obstacle is hit.
Complies: |_| Yes |_| No The scraper will require the installation of (2) double acting electric hydraulic valves into the main valve bank. These sections will need to be sized appropriately for the system and equipped with all necessary relief valves. The controls for operating the scraper will be furnished with the specified base controls. Adjustment to increase/decrease maximum operator controlled down pressure shall only be available within the valve enclosure, to a qualified service person or mechanic.
Complies: |_| Yes |_| No A hydraulic pressure monitor shall be provided to display hydraulic pressure to the pavement during the operation of the underbody scraper. The down pressure reading shall be displayed to the operator, on the spreader control screen in the form of “Down Pressure” PSI reading. The pressure transmitter shall be engineered for mobile hydraulic applications to withstand extreme vibration and shock.
Complies: |_| Yes |_| No The vendor shall provide complete installation and ensure the working compatibility of all hydraulic and mechanical components of the vehicle upon completion of the installation. This shall include relocation of air tanks, battery box, exhaust/emissions, etc. or other chassis components necessary to complete a professional installation.
Complies: |_| Yes |_| No The installation may require replacing the fuel tank with a “Slim-Line” fuel tank with integral grip strut step, mounted on the driver’s side of the cab. Minimum capacity shall be 70 gal. if required.
| Complies: |_| Yes | |_| No |
| Tank Capacity: | |
| Gallons |
Finish:
All components of the scraper assembly shall be shot or sand blasted to remove all mill scale, oil, and rust from the surface prior to assembly. All component parts shall be powder coated with a black TGIC polyester powder material prior to assembly. The powder will be equal to a TGIC Super Durable polyester powder with additives for UV and wear resistance. The powder coating shall conform to and meet a minimum of 1,500 hours salt spray test per ASTM B-117 testing. Documentation is required with the bid proposal.
