About this file

This document is a specification and questionnaire issued by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) Bureau of Business Services for a heavy-duty one-way, full trip type snowplow. The snowplow is intended for use on tandem axle trucks operated by IDOT. The specification covers detailed requirements for the construction, performance, and delivery of the snowplow, including the moldboard, push frame, trip mechanism, finish, inspection, and warranty. Bidders are required to complete and return the questionnaire with their bid. IDOT reserves the right to inspect the plows prior to delivery and requires the successful bidder to provide operator's manuals, parts lists, and warranties with each plow delivered.

The specification does not provide pricing terms or set-asides, nor does it mention any incumbent suppliers or details about the current procurement environment. The document states this equipment is critical to IDOT's operations, so prompt parts and service from the successful bidder will be required. Delivery of the plows is to be coordinated with IDOT locations, and the equipment must be delivered in first-class operating condition, subject to IDOT's inspection and approval.
