About this file
This document contains a fracture critical detail inspection report for the Willamette River Bridge and a related federal contract opportunity notice. The inspection report provides condition assessments for structural elements of the bridge such as girders, floorbeams, stringers and bearings. Deficiencies including pack rust, section loss and distortions are documented. The related federal contract opportunity is seeking bids for a highway bridge project along OR DOT 18(1) and OR58 between the Coast Fork Willamette River and Lower Salt Creek. The estimated price range for the project is between $15-20 million. It involves Schedule A work over 35.88 miles as well as a 0.11 mile optional segment. Bids for the firm fixed price contract will be sealed and the solicitation is open to full and unrestricted competition.

INSPECTION NOTES:
Vertical Stiffeners added to girders in 2007 (look for bolted stiffeners)
All plate girders / stingers / floorbeams that are in contact w/ the concrete deck have minor CS3 rust on the upper flange that is imbedded in the concrete Most lower splice plates on FC Girders have crevace rust/ pack rust Floorbeams at Bents 4,5 & 6 have cs3 deterioration on most members Some rough flame cuts where rivets were torched out and replaced w/ bolts in upper web.
Can take the lane from 8am- Aspen can inspect both girders from 1 lane well.
East bound/ Upstream traffic lane taken from 8:30 am-11:30am 4/18/18.
If needed, can inspect spans 4-7 with a bucket truck.
Need 2 flaggers
