Repair Lab and Warehouse – Intro
Welcome, before we begin the tour I would like to ask all of you to refrain from asking questions verbally. If you have any questions please write them down and submit them to Lt Dan Beckett utilizing the question submission form prior to 7 March
2014. As we walk through the labs please stay within the yellow borders of tape and remain with the group. If anyone has a beverage, they can place them on this table (point to table), and collect it at the conclusion of the tour. Additionally, if anyone has a cellular phone, camera, or any other device capable of recording images, video, or audio, please leave it on the table as well.
My name is Mike Norton and I will be walking you through our repair lab and warehouse today. The purpose of this lab is to restore repairable equipment to appropriate levels of performance and return end items to a serviceable condition for use at the
Remote Tracking Stations (RTSs), and the Operational Control Nodes (OCNs), and other locations. The purpose of the warehouse is to store repaired and to-be repaired assets, in addition to CSWS assets to support network needs.
Please follow me through the lab and then to the warehouse area.
Repair Lab:
The repair lab is comprised of 17 workstations. The lab averages 200+ repairs annually (in-house and vendor) on Type I and
Type II stocklisted NSNs through funding from Ogden Air Logistics Center under Material Support Division (MSD) on a
Contract Line Item Number (CLIN).
o The largest number of in-house repairs occurs on the Legacy HPA Books, NSN 5996-01-328-8704. The largest number of vendor repairs occurs on the Archival Recorder System, NSN 5836-01-532-2756.
o Repair capability exists for assets that are not stocklisted but are critical to the AFSCN. These repairs average 70+ annually. These repairs are funded under an additional CLIN.
o Procure and maintain spare parts and consumable to support MSD repairs.
o Log repair actions in Government On-Line Database (GOLD).
Agile Combat Support Warehouse:
Agile Combat Support (ACS) warehouse locations provide quick response to needs from the network for Ogden managed
Type II NSNs o The “A” condition asset posture for repairable assets is 350+ on average annually. These items are visible to the Item
Manager at Ogden for release to meet network needs.
o The “F” condition asset posture for assets needing repair is 300+ on average annually. These items are visible to the
Item Manager at Ogden for release to repair to replenish usage from the “A” condition side.
Contractor Supported Weapon System Warehouse:
Contractor Supported Weapon System (CSWS) warehouse locations provide quick response to needs from the network for contractor managed Type II NSNs o There are 448 NSNs maintained as part of the CSWS warehouse, total asset count is 5000+ assets.
o Large items are located on shelves and on the floor in the warehouse area located behind the Vertical Lift Modula
(VLM). Smaller items are stored in bin locations in the trays of two of the VLM.
o RFID technology is utilized to track item locations and aids in ease and accuracy of necessary inventories.
