50 OG INDUSTRY DAY 2014
SCRIPT
Start of Briefing:
Title Slide: Good morning, I am Capt Douglas the Section Chief for 3 SOPS Ground Engineering and I will be briefing you today on the locations of the 50 OG Distributed Communications
Controllers (DCCs) and the Electronic Scheduling Disseminations (ESDs) as well as the missions of each of the 50 OG operations squadrons.
Slide 2: 1 SOPS MOD 10 DCC/ESD Locations and their mission:
1 SOPS:
Mission: To provide Space Situational Awareness via Space Based Space Surveillance.
ESD Locations:
--Theirs are located in room 13 & 16.
--The primary ESD is in Room 16 with Scheduling, the back-up ESDs are on the
Operations floor in Room 13.
--The have a secondary Location for ESD in room 11.
--The primary and back-up ESDs as well as their ESD Server are located in room 11.
--1 SOPS has 4-ESD v2.7 Terminals and 1-ESD v2.7 Server.
DCC Locations:
--Located in room 16.
--Their primary and back-up DCC workstations are located on their primary Operations floor.
--Their secondary Location is in room 11.
--They have primary and back-up DCC workstations located in room 11
--They have 4-DCC Terminals.
Slide 3: 1 SOPS MOD 16 Mission, DCC & ESD locations:
Mission: To provide Operational Responsive Combat Effects via Operationally Responsive
Satellite (ORS-1) and Multi-Mission Space Operations Center (MMSOC)/Ground System
Architecture (GSA).
ESD Locations for MOD 16:
--There are primary and back-up ESD workstations located on their Ops floor.
--Their ESD Server is located in an adjoining comm room.
--Their ESD v3.0 terminals are in place on the Ops floor
--They have 2-ESD v2.7 terminals, 2-ESD v3.0 terminals, and 1-ESD v2.7 server.
DCC Locations:
--They have primary and back-up DCC workstations located on their Ops floor
--They have 3-DCC terminals.
Slide 4: 2 SOPS MOD 11 Mission and DCC/ESD Locations.
2 SOPS:
Mission: To provide a Global Positioning System via Architecture Evolution Plan (AEP) and
Launch and Early Orbit, Anomaly Resolution, and Disposal Operations (LADO).
ESD Locations:
--Theirs is located in room 7 which contains 2 ESD terminals and their ESD server.
--One is primary for AEP and one is primary for LADO. Each is considered a backup for the other.
DCC Locations:
--Room 7 contains 2 DCC terminals.
--One is primarily for AEP and one is primary for LADO. Each is considered a backup for the other.
Slide 5: 2 SOPS MOD 7 Mission and DCC/ESD Locations
Mission: Launch and Early Orbit, Anomaly Resolution, and Disposal Operations (LADO) for the
Global Positioning System. This is a backup to the LADO system in Mod 11.
ESD Locations:
--Located in room 12 containing 1 ESD terminal.
DCC Locations:
--Located in room 12 containing 2 DCC terminals.
Slide 6: 2 SOPS/Alternate Master Control Station (AMCS) DCC/ESD Locations:
Mission: Global Positioning System via Architecture Evolution Plan (AEP) and Launch and Early
Orbit, Anomaly Resolution, and Disposal Operations (LADO) at the alternate location, Vandenberg Tracking Station (VTS).
ESD Locations:
--Located in building 23229.
--Room 35 contains 1 ESD terminal. It is shared between AEP and LADO operations.
DCC Locations:
--Located in building 23229.
--Room 35 contains 1 ESD terminal. It is shared between AEP and LADO operations.
Slide 7: Integrated Operations Environment (IOE) CAMMO Support 3 SOPS/4 SOPS Missions and DCC/ESD Locations.
3 SOPS:
Mission: Warfighters ensuring reliable wideband communications to National Authorities and US/Allied Forces. We provide wideband Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM) for users across the globe and we were the first in space for satellite operations with our DSCS Satellites.
4 SOPS:
Mission: The 4th Space Operations Squadron operates the Air Force’s protected MILSATCOM system which provides warfighters with global secure survivable strategic and tactical communications during peacetime and throughout the full spectrum of conflict.
ESD Locations:
--Located in MOD12: Room 6, room 9
--Located in MOD13: Room 7, room 1
--Located in MOD 20: Room 5
DCC Locations:
--Located in MOD12: Room 6
--Located in MOD13: Room 7, room 1
--Located in MOD 20: Room 5
Slide 8: The 3rd Space Experimental Squadron (SES) Mission and DCC/ESD Locations:
3 SES:
Mission: AFSPC’s premier organization for space-based demonstrations, pathfinders, and experiments. This squadron identifies concepts of employment, training, education and technical skill sets required to field selected future AFSPC missions.
ESD Locations:
--Located in MOD 9 rooms 9, 12, and 19.
DCC Locations:
--Located in MOD 9 rooms 9 and 12.
Slide 9: Today I briefed you on the mission sets and the DCC/ESD locations for each squadron included in the 50th Operations Group here at Schriever AFB. This concludes my briefing, are there any questions?
