Task 7 – Wastewater/Sanitary Sewer Design

Description: Michael Baker will prepare construction documents and an engineer’s construction cost estimate for the design of a dump station along the park access road, septic tank treatment and drain field for the dump station and a proposed Intermediate Bathhouse. Separate systems are expected due to proximity. The existing bathhouse will utilize the existing septic tank treatment and drain field.

The dump station will be installed to provide best access to drivers leaving the equestrian campground.

Owner will provide daily park usage statistics that will be relied upon for sizing of the proposed

Septic System. These will include both RV usage and personnel usage unrelated to RV traffic. Maximum daily usage, currently provided by FDEP, is 20 Recreation Vehicles with 75 gallons of wastewater each, 75 day-use visitors and one (1) volunteer.

Exclusions: Design of either a sewage collection system or a septic tank effluent distribution system utilizing pumps is outside this scope of services and fee.

FDEP’s Bureau of Design and Construction Standard Building Guide – 2014 Edition will be utilized, where applicable.

Deliverables: Task 7 deliverables will be incorporated into plan submittals.

Design calculations, and drawings with required septic tank(s), distribution box and distribution line trenches shown in plan and profile, along with related details as appropriate for submission to state agencies for approval, obtaining bids and subsequent construction. Material Specifications will be provided on the Drawings. Miscellaneous site grading plan in the vicinity of the proposed septic system will be provided. Surveys, site investigations and geotechnical investigations to determine appropriate effluent application rates are not included in the hours below. Design and providing drawings for the sewage collection system, up to 1,500 LF of pipeline and associated manholes, is also included in the hours below.
