About this file

This is a Construction Facilities and Temporary Controls specification section for Bristol Township's 2026 Road Paving, Inlet Replacement, and Curb Ramp Program in Pennsylvania. The specification establishes contractor responsibilities for providing and maintaining temporary infrastructure necessary to support the roadway construction project, including temporary utilities (electricity, lighting, heat, ventilation, communications, water, and sanitary facilities), temporary controls (barriers, enclosures, fencing, water management, and dust control), and construction facilities (access roads, parking, cleaning, signage, and temporary buildings). The contractor is responsible for all costs associated with temporary electricity from utility sources, sanitary facilities installation at project mobilization, six-foot-high perimeter fencing with locked gates, site grading and water management to prevent pooling or running water, daily waste removal and progress cleaning, and dust control measures using water spraying or other methods as directed by the Resident Project Representative.

The specification requires the contractor to maintain site security to prevent unauthorized entry and vandalism, protect installed work and designated plantings from damage, prohibit traffic in landscaped areas, use closed waste chutes with appropriate containers rather than open free-fall chutes, and restore all existing and permanent facilities to original or specified condition upon project completion. Dust control measures must be implemented at no additional cost to the owner when deemed necessary by the Resident Project Representative. The contractor must grade the site to prevent water accumulation, maintain excavations free of water through pumping operations, and provide protection for non-owned vehicular traffic and stored materials. All work must comply with related sections addressing soil erosion and sediment control, traffic regulation, and contract closeout requirements.
