About this file
This is a Summary of Work document for Bristol Township's 2026 Road Paving, Inlet Replacement, and Curb Ramp Program in Pennsylvania. The contract encompasses three primary work categories: road paving work including milling, base repair, leveling course, manhole rim adjustments, pavement markings, and wearing course along various township roads; inlet design and replacements at specified locations with contractors responsible for field verification, fabrication, installation, and site restoration; and installation of ADA/PennDOT-compliant curb ramps requiring removal of existing curbs and sidewalks, stone base placement, curb ramp installation with truncated domes, concrete finishing, and utility elevation adjustments. All work must comply with PennDOT Publication 408 and Township Standards. Road paving work cannot begin before June 1, 2026, and construction hours are restricted to 7:30 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. The contractor must provide third-party testing results as required by contract documents and maintain biweekly schedule updates.
The contractor is responsible for protecting all existing utilities and determining their exact locations in accordance with Pennsylvania Act 287. Contractors must provide minimum three-day advance notice to property owners and residents regarding on-street parking restrictions for all three work categories and coordinate signage placement with the township and resident project representative; failure to provide proper notice results in contractor responsibility for towing costs. The work must be performed while existing roadways and utilities remain in operation without jeopardizing system operations. All work requires strict compliance with OSHA Construction Workplace Safety Standards, and contractors must immediately notify the engineer of any observed drainage or ponding issues to develop remediation plans. No products will be supplied by the owner, and the owner will occupy the site throughout the construction period.
