About this file
This document outlines a pre-bid site visit agenda and provides details for a federal contract opportunity to renovate the Polytrauma ward at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center. The scope of work includes demolishing and replacing interior elements in the 4K and 4H wards to accommodate eleven private inpatient rooms and one bariatric room. Key requirements include mechanical, electrical, plumbing, data, and medical gas systems. Construction must be completed in phases to maintain occupancy in adjacent areas. The total set-aside contract valued between $10-20 million is restricted to verified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses. The solicitation was issued by the VA Midwest Health Care Network and responses are due July 21, 2023. The award will be made based on a tradeoff evaluation of non-price factors being more important than price. The pre-bid meeting covered project discussions, challenges including coordination with other projects and occupancy, and contractor storage and laydown areas.
