About this file
This is a Request for Information (RFI) Log documenting 308 questions and government responses for VISN 7 Construction MATOC Seed 2 Project 557-20-101, a radiology and nuclear medicine relocation project at a VA Medical Center in Dublin, Georgia.
The project involves renovating approximately 19,065 gross square feet to relocate radiology and nuclear medicine departments from Building 4A to Building 5. Key scope elements include construction of new MRI, CT, SPECT/CT, fluoroscopy, X-ray, and hot lab/decay rooms with associated lead shielding, RF shielding for the MRI room, medical gas systems, fire alarm system modifications, nurse call systems, access control integration, and patient lift installations. The contract requires three separate full-time on-site personnel (Site Superintendent, Site Safety and Health Officer, and Quality Control Manager) with no dual-hatting permitted due to project complexity. The project operates within an active medical facility with utility outages and noise-intensive work required after hours; the Eye Clinic adjacent to the construction area necessitates restricted demolition scheduling. The contractor is responsible for engaging a third-party Commissioning Agent at contractor cost, providing all materials testing and inspection services, installing firestopping per specification requirements, and furnishing temporary ICRA barriers (Type D, Medium Risk, Type III/IV). The Period of Performance is 540 calendar days, with the project not tax-exempt and requiring Buy American Act compliance. The VA will furnish and install the MRI and CT scanners separately, while the contractor provides all infrastructure including power, bracing, and coordination. As-built drawings from 1990 clinical additions were provided for informational purposes only, with the bid documents controlling any discrepancies.

What are the 2 air gap distance between the first and second studs on other side of the RF shielding panel and how is it to be connected to studs?
2" or as required by Shielding Manufacturer
Finish Plan How far up the wall do you want the WSF-1 to go as the wall base?
4"
Finish Plan QT-1 quarry tile comes in a 6x6 tile and has a 6x6 cove base tile - do you want the cove base tile for the base?
QT base is not required to be coved
A910 7-12 Bathroom wall details have the PT-1 (12x24) as a 6" tile for the base in the bathrooms - do we need to cut the tile in half? Also, the CWT-1 wall tile (12x24) shows a 6" tile as a band to finish off the wall tile at 3'6" up the wall - are we cutting the CWT-1 tile in half and using that or the other half of PT-1 from the base tile? With that being said, do you have a detail how you want to finish that top off -grouted or Schluter? With that measurement of 4' in total with the PT-1 and the CWT-1, the WC-1 comes in about a 50"-54" height in a roll. The ceiling height in the bathrooms show at 9', which would leave a gap of about 6"-10" - do you want to go higher with the tile to eliminate having that gap?
To minimize gap in wallcovering, raise tile (CWT-1) to 4’-0” (not including 6 inch base). Provide wall covering in 54” roll to eliminate gap in wall covering. Provide Schluter Systems trim: “Quadec” in satin aluminum to finish top edge.
