This amendment answers the following vendor questions:
1) Drawing 1‐ES‐201 in room E102 shows two clusters of type Q light fixtures with only 3 actual fixtures shown in each cluster but 4 leer Q’s in each area. Is this intended to be 2 clusters of 3 fixtures or 2 clusters of 4 fixtures?
A. Three (3) Q light fixtures should be included in each cluster
2) Drawing 1-ES-102 depicts the lightning protection system for the new addition. Is this supposed to tie into an existing system or is this a stand alone new system? If tie-in to existing, can the name of the original installer be provided so the UL Label can be maintained without having to recertify the whole system. As per the details on 1-ES-702 the manufacturer was listed as Harger but that is not the installer.
A. Response: On 1-ES-102, add the following notes 4,5,6 under “LIGHTNING PROTECTION GENERAL NOTES”
1. At each ground rod location, provide a dedicated lightning protection down conductor concealed within the building exterior metal sheath. Down conductor shall be bonded to ground rod on the bottom, and perimeter conductor on the top.
1. At each ground rod location, provide a No. 6 AWG bare copper conductor, brazed to the building exterior metal sheath, and bonded to the ground rod
1. Entire lightning protection system shall comply with NFPA 780 and NFPA 70.
(Note: This revision does not remove the instructions in notes 1&2, which require that air terminals and ground rods be connected to the building’s steel frame.)
All other terms and conditions remain the same.
