About this file
This document is Addendum No. 1 for the Pump Station 43 Improvements Invitation for Bid (IFB 092-25-RM) issued by the local government of Tallahassee, Florida. The addendum modifies the original bid solicitation, addressing critical changes to the project specifications, including reducing the contract time from 210 to 130 days and clarifying technical details about pipe sizes, fittings, and connection configurations. The bid opening remains scheduled for Thursday, August 14, 2025, at 2:30 P.M., with a mandatory pre-bid meeting previously held on July 23, 2025, via Microsoft Teams.
The project involves infrastructure improvements including removal of an out-of-service forcemain, installation of approximately 675 linear feet of 18-inch ductile iron pipe (DIP) force main, a surge tank, a kingpin manhole, and bypass pumping components. Additional scope encompasses surface restoration, asphalt patching, milling, resurfacing, and arboricultural mitigation for impacted trees. The addendum specifically addresses contractor questions about pipe and fitting specifications, proposing modifications to the original plans to accommodate manufacturing limitations and ensure project feasibility. A revised Schedule of Bid Items and updated plan sheets (4, 16, 17, and 18) have been added to the Bonfire procurement platform to reflect these changes.

NOTICE TO BIDDERS ADDENDUM NO. 1
PUMP STATION 43 IMPROVEMENTS
IFB 092-25-RM
Please be advised of Addendum No. 1 to the above referenced Bid Solicitation as follows:
1. This addendum forms a part of the proposal documents and modifies the original specifications and proposal documents, dated DATE as noted below.
2. Respondent must acknowledge this addendum by accepting the addendum in Bonfire.
This addendum consists of 3 items
ITEM NO. 1:
In Section 1.8.5.3 Liquidated Damages, it states “contract time of 210 Days”. This should read “contract time of 130 Days”, which would correctly match the Proposal language.
ITEM NO. 2:
Question: The fittings manufactures do not make long radius Mechanical Joint 90 degree bends. Can a standard radius MJ 90 be used in place below grade? Above grade can a standard radius 18x10 flanged reducing 90 be used in place of the long radius 18x10 flanged reducing 90 called out on the plans?
Answer: Modifications have been made to the Bypass Connection Detail to remove non-manufactured bends and fittings. The items below detail how and where that change was made.
Question: The bid schedule is calling for 4” DIP, and the plans are calling for 3” DIP. What size is needed and is there a spec for the called-out ball valve?
Answer: A 3” connection is required at the surge tanks, so the Item No. and Item Description both reference 3” DIP. However, due to the lack of availability of 3” valves, fittings, and pipe, a 3”-to-4” transition is proposed just outside the tank, so all other downstream components are 4”. The items below detail how and where that change was made.
A revised Schedule of Bid Items (Item 14-7a.) has been added to Bonfire. The following changes were made to the spreadsheet:
· A note has been removed from the bottom of the sheet that stated, “Bid will be awarded to contractor with the lowest total bid for both projects”.
· The Description of Item for Item YP-3-DIP has been changed to “3” DIP Pipe Connection” for continuity and Note 6) has been added clarifying the nomenclature.
· The date on the sheet has been updated.
Please use this spreadsheet when submitting your bids.
ITEM NO. 3:
The Bypass Connection Detail, on Sheet 18 of the provided plan set, has been revised to show a 12” bypass line and fittings, along with a revised connection configuration. This revision was made because of a question regarding the availability of the fittings specified in the original plans. As a result of this revision, Pay Item Note YP-18-DIP, on Sheet 4 of the provided plan set, has been revised as well. Revised plan sheets 4, 16, 17, and 18 (Item 13-6a.) have been added to Bonfire. Please substitute these for Sheets 4, 16, 17, and 18 in the provided plan set.
BID OPENING HAS NOT CHANGED AND IS THURSDAY, AUGUST 14, 2025, AT 2:30 P.M.
