About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for the Balclutha 2026 Drydock Request for Information (RFI 3).
The document addresses clarifications on two primary work items. For Item 2.03 (Wheelchair Lift Servicing), responses confirm that the wheelchair lift unit was last serviced in November 2022, is currently non-operational, and no planned maintenance service agreement from installation remains in effect. For Item 2.04.B (UT Spars), clarifications specify that ultrasonic testing of spars encompasses the full length of all three steel masts and the bowsprit up to the same elevation as surveyed in 2017, with additional bowsprit coverage, below-deck mast areas, and increased readings using a ten-inch grid spacing. The document explicitly excludes cross spars (yards) from the current year's scope of work. The RFI also requests access to Builder's Specifications per discussions conducted during vessel check.

Item 2.04.B is intended to encompass the full length of each of the three steel masts and the bowsprit. This is up to the same elevation as surveyed in 2017 (Attachment 4), with the addition of the bowsprit, below deck areas of the masts and, with increased readings (ten inch [10”] grid).
5. Does the above include the cross spars (yards) as in the provided UT report, or are they excluded from this year’s SOW?
Correct, the yards are not included in this SOW.
