2. Installation, operation, and maintenance of a Water Diversion System during Construction Phases 1 and 2 which shall divert water through the existing outlet works and discharge downstream of the Work during service spillway construction. This includes installation of temporary diversion piping connecting the existing outlet works conduit to the channel downstream of the Work and installation of a temporary downstream cofferdam.

2. Install the diversion piping and the connection to the existing outlet works conduit.
3. Construct a temporary downstream cofferdam.
FOR BID REV 2 PAGE 5 OF 8
B. Construction Phase 2

The actual alignment of the pipe shall be determined by CONTRACTOR to facilitate construction of the new structures. Pipe to be restrained or weighted with a minimum of 670 pounds per lineal foot.
B. Any control valves shall be open under normal operation to pass normal stream flows so that reservoir level will remain near empty during construction. Control valves can be closed temporarily for as short a duration as possible to allow CONTRACTOR to disconnect the diversion pipe or to switch diversion to the new outlet works in between construction stages.
Operation of control valves is CONTRACTOR’s responsibility.
C. Diversion pipe discharge shall be routed downstream of the mass excavation, as shown on the Drawings. Do not allow discharge into the excavation and Work areas.
