(Class B) for National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

This SOR does not include a complete statement of all Regulatory Body requirements necessary to satisfy the classification and certification requirements of Section 070 and United

States Regulatory Bodies. The Contractor shall ensure that all such Regulatory Body requirements are met. The Class B hull form and allowable locations of certain transducers as presented in Attachment J.8 Project Peculiar Documents are to be followed by the Contractor without deviation, unless specifically approved in advance by the Government.

42.a Equivalent Equipment

Where equipment is specified herein by manufacturer’s name, make, or model number, the manufacturer’s specifications and performance characteristics are included by reference in

Attachment J.5 Equipment Salient Characteristics. The Contractor may propose equivalents to these equipment selections for Government approval by submitting an Equipment Equivalency

Certificate.

When lesser dimensions and weights, or superior performance, acoustic characteristics, service, material, and maintenance characteristics are demonstrable and are to the advantage of the ship’s function and mission, the equivalent item may, with Government approval, be acceptable, provided specified requirements are met.
