Photography of Fine Art Collection
The United States Marine Corps, specifically the National Museum of the Marine Corps (NMMC), is seeking professional fine art photography services for its extensive collection of over 13,000 paintings, prints, and sculptures dating from the early 19th century to present. The agency is conducting a Sources Sought Announcement to determine market capabilities and identify interested vendors for a potential task order contract. Key contract requirements include creating high-resolution 300dpi digital images, producing archival quality reproductions, and working with fragile historical artworks located at the NMMC Museum Support Facility in Dumfries, VA. Contractors must possess a minimum of 5 years of fine art photography experience and be capable of working during standard business hours. The response deadline is February 26, 2025, with interested vendors required to submit a two-page capability statement via email to Molly Henderson, including business details, CAGE code, UEI, small business status, and feedback on the draft Performance Work Statement (PWS) and pricing table.
The procurement is not set aside for any specific small business category, and potential NAICS codes under consideration include 541922 (Commercial Photography), 323111, and 711510. The government intends to award a 5-year Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with firm-fixed pricing for task orders ranging from single items to 100 items per order. The draft pricing table includes 11 billable tasks covering various photography services such as intake meetings, location photography for small (1-5 works), medium (6-20 works), and large (21+ works) projects, individual art piece and 3D artifact photography, scanning, digital retouching, and production of reproduction prints on fine art paper and canvas in sizes ranging from 8"x10" to 40"x60". While specific award values are not disclosed, the comprehensive pricing structure suggests a potentially significant contract opportunity for qualified photography service providers with expertise in handling historical and fine art collections.
