About this opportunity

The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles is requesting proposals for inspections, corrective and emergency maintenance services for Uninterruptible Power Supply systems and components at northern and southern Nevada DMV offices under RFP 81DMV-S3894, with proposals due June 26, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. Pacific Time. A Nevada-based business five percent preference applies. Questions are due June 10, 2026, and client references are due June 25, 2026.

The scope covers annual preventative maintenance, quarterly and annual battery inspections, corrective repairs, and 24/7 emergency service for four UPS units (two Liebert and Mitsubishi units in Carson City, one Eaton unit in Elko, and one Eaton unit in Las Vegas) and 366 batteries across the four locations. Emergency response times are 4 hours or less for Carson City and Reno, 6 hours or less for Elko, and 10 hours or less for Las Vegas, with parts ordered and installed within 72 hours. Preventative maintenance visits require two weeks' notice and must occur during standard business hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Battery replacement services include 20% annual replacement, and if failures exceed 20%, the contractor must provide a discounted quote that DMV may match against competing bids. All proposals must include detailed hourly rates stratified by standard hours, after-hours, weekend hours, holidays, and emergency service, plus copies of contractor's license, local business license, and State Business License from the Nevada Secretary of State.

The contract term is four years, with options to renew for two additional one-year extensions. Evaluation uses five equally weighted factors (20 points each): Technical Requirements, Reliability & Quality, Service Support & Maintenance, Total Cost of Ownership, and Vendor Qualifications & Experience. Vendors must hold an active Nevada business license, be registered on nevadaepro.com and sam.gov, and comply with mandatory requirements including non-boycott of Israel certification and data encryption with stateside data maintenance. Commercial General Liability insurance must have a $2 million general aggregate limit and $1 million per-occurrence limit; Auto Liability combined single limit of $1 million; Workers' Compensation with statutory limits; and Pollution Legal Liability with $1 million per-occurrence and $2 million annual aggregate if hazardous materials are involved. Board of Examiners approval and contract start are estimated for September 8, 2026.
