Prototypical (Advanced Metering) questions through December 30 Prototypical Advanced Metering Project Questions
1. Is there a current PM contractor for the LONWorks system?
Answer: CMS and JDH are PM contractors that have installed the Honeywell Enterprise Buildings Integrator (EBI) that utilizes the Tropos Wireless Mesh at Camp Atterbury and at Muscatatuck.
(NOTE: The EBI utilizes LON-Works technologies and components. The building controls are all LON-Works components that utilize an open source technology that feed back into the EBI Utility Monitoring and Control System (UMCS). LON-Works is the required communication protocol.)
1. If so, what is the point of contact for that contactor?
Answer:
CMS: Mark Preis, Project Manager 691 Industrial Boulevard Bargersville, IN 46106 t: 317-412-9852, f: 317-422-4470, tel:317-422-4470, c: 317-333-3872
JDH: Dick Whicker, 8109 Network Dr.
Plainfield, IN 46168 317-839-0520 Office, 317-650-9677 Mobile dwhicker@jdhcontracting.com Honeywell Government Solutions: Mark Woodward Cell (816)308-1458 mark.woodward@honeywell.com
1. Do you have a list of contactors who have performed installations over the past couple of years?
Answer: Both PM Contractors utilize Honeywell Government Solutions to install the components at the Building Point of Connection (BPOC) to the EBI frontend; IE. The Honeywell Government Solutions contractor integrates all building control points, and installs and integrates the advanced meters and Tropos wireless mesh technology.
1. Any other relevant information regarding this scope of work is appreciated in advance.
Answer: The Camp Atterbury’s Utility Monitoring and Control System (UMCS), the Honeywell Enterprise Buildings Integrator (EBI), utilizes LON-Works technologies and components. The building controls are all LON-Works components that utilize an open source technology that feeds back into the Honeywell EBI UMCS. LON-Works is the required communication protocol.
The CONTRACTOR shall ensure that the new construction building is completely integrated into Atterbury's existing Utility Monitoring and Control System (UMCS). The Contractor SHALL install an approved wireless mesh infrastructure and integrate all desired building control points into the CAJMTC UMCS Network.
The Building Point of Connection (BPOC) and wireless router SHALL be provided and commissioned by the systems integrator (Sub contractor) per 25 10 10, 3.5.5. As detailed in 23 09 23, the prime contractor SHALL provide a fully commissioned LonWorks system and provide to their sub contractor (in this case, a Honeywell Government Solutions certified Enterprise Building Integrator technician) an LNS database and FTT10 cabling to BPOC.
This process ensures that there is no violation of any or all DICAP certifications and Certificate of Net-Worthiness that the systems integrator has obtained in order to ensure ARCAS compliance and connectivity.
In accordance with UFGS Specifications 23-09-23 and 25-10-10, the following meter points and equipment will be provided and integrated into CAJMTC’s EBI UMCS:
1) Wireless Router
2) BPOC
3) The Electrical Meter
4) The Water Meter
5) The Gas Meter
6) The CO Detectors (by way of alarm system panel)
7) The Smoke Detectors (by way of alarm system panel) The points for following equipment maybe integrated into CAJMTC’s EBI UMCS. The building scope will detail, if applicable, the DDC control for HVAC systems identified.
1) All physical inputs & outputs, applicable set points, schedules & alarms
2) The Night Setbacks
3) Occupied and Un-Occupied Sensors
4) The Exterior Lighting (Integration Only)
