However, Drawing LEE S-106 shows additional shear capitals to be constructed below the main roof level – Structural Keynote 14. Please confirm that these shear capitals on the main roof level are over and above the 4 shear capitals per floor that we need to carry in the bid.

A. THE BASE BIDS SHOULD INCLUDE ALL SHEAR CAPITALS NOTED ON THE STRUCTURAL

DRAWINGS AND ALL ALLOWANCES NOTED IN THE NOTES ON S-002. CAPITALS NOTED ON THE ROOF (AND ALL OTHER FLOORS) ARE REQUIRED. THE ALLOWANCES ON S-002 ARE ADDITIONAL IN CASE

CRACKS ARE DISCOVERED IN THE FIELD.

29. Q. Detail C2 on Drawings LEE S-502 & SHERM S-502 – Lightweight Concrete Infill - Please clarify for which repair item is this detail applicable. In addition, please provide a quantity for this repair as well as the type of surface preparation required in terms of CSP profile.

A. LW concrete is listed as an option at areas of crack repairs at depths larger than 1 1/2". Please use allowances noted on S-002 and the price schedule.

30. Q. Drawing LEE S-002, & SHERM S-002 - FRP NOTES - Note 2.C Item (c), states that "THERE ARE THREE PRIMARY TYPES OF FLEXURAL REINFORCEMENT LIKELY TO TAKE PLACE - NEGATIVE UNI-

DIRECTIONAL REINFORCEMENT UNDER NON-LOAD BEARING CMU DEVISING WALLS, SHOWN AS

EXAMPLE A IN PLANS, NEGATIVE BI-DIRECTIONAL REINFORCEMENT AROUND INTERIOR COLUMNS SHOWN AS EXAMPLE B AND POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT ON THE UNDERSLAB ON SLABS AND BEAMS."

Please provide a breakdown on the quantities for the 3 types of flexural reinforcement likely to take place

– SF of negative uni-directional reinforcement shown as Example A, SF of negative bi-directional reinforcement around interior columns shown as Example B and SF of positive reinforcement on the underside of slab and beams. There is a significant price difference between all the 3 repair types and between uni-directional and bi-directional FRP which can affect the overall bid pricing significantly given the bid quantity of 8,000 sf at Lee Barracks and 10,000 sf at Sherman Barracks. In addition, determination of approximate quantities during the pre-bid walk through is not possible as the existing finishes are not removed yet.

A. Yes you are correct. It is impossible to determine exact takeoffs of FRP required until all architectural finishes are removed, and a comprehensive survey has taken place. Quantities listed on S- 002 are best estimates based on field observation and past experience in similar barracks renovations of similar construction types. Beam reinforcement is less likely. Example A - UNI-DIR mid-span reinforcement will likely occur in similar quantities as Example B- punching shear reinforcement.

31. Q. Can you please provide an approximate quantity breakdown for the spalled concrete surfaces in terms of how much repairs are on topside of the slab vs underside of the slab vs column concrete repairs vs wall concrete repairs vs beam concrete repairs? There is a significant price difference between repairs at all the above listed locations which can affect the overall bid pricing significantly given the bid quantity of 1,300 sq. feet at Lee Barracks and 1,750 sq. feet at Sherman Barracks. In addition, determination of approximate quantities during the pre-bid walk through is not possible as the existing finishes are not removed yet.

A. Bid as per S-002 and the price schedule.

32. Q. Please confirm if the any of the bays in both the barracks have depressed structural slab areas. Based on our experience working at Bradley and Eisenhower barracks, the center bay was depressed and additional surface preparation and FRP transitioning details were required to install the FRP system.

A. All know slab depressions are indicated on structural plans.

33. Q. Lee Barracks – Drawings S-100B to S-106 shows all the locations for the FRP system (Keynote
