About this file
This document provides specifications for drilled concrete piers and shafts for the Defense Logistics Agency Aviation Operations Center Phase II project. The solicitation requires the contractor to drill concrete piers and shafts and install crosshole sonic logging equipment in the first 20 piers and every 20 thereafter to test for defects. The contractor must continue testing at their own expense until they can demonstrate defect-free results. The contractor will be paid per linear foot for each diameter of pier drilled based on the number and total length installed. Separate unit prices will be paid for the removal of rock or other obstructions encountered during drilling. The specifications also include requirements for scheduling, price breakdown, and inspections of pier foundations. The related federal contract opportunity is solicitation number W91235620R2005 for the DLA Aviation Operations Center Phase II project issued by the Department of the Army Corps of Engineers Norfolk District.
