About this file

This document is a Packaging Requirements specification (AFMC Form 158) for purchase instrument FD20302500579-00, Version 3, generated on March 18, 2025. It establishes detailed packaging and marking standards for multiple line items under military procurement standards MIL-STD-129 (Revision R) and MIL-STD-2073-1 (Revision E).

The specification includes comprehensive requirements for wood packaging material (WPM) compliance with United Nations phytosanitary standards, mandating debarked wood and heat treatment at 56 degrees Celsius for 30 minutes with certification from an American Lumber Standards Committee (ALSC) accredited agency. The document contains 91 packaging classification records (PACRNs) designated AAA through ACZ, each specifying distinct items by NSN with corresponding preservation levels (MIL or Engineered/Specialized Container categories), packaging levels (primarily B or A), and unit pack dimensions. Most items require military packaging and marking per MIL-STD-2073-1 and MIL-STD-129, with shipping container marking meeting MIL-STD-129 criteria including provisions for unit serial numbers, OEM names, and OEM model numbers. Several items require specialized handling instructions, including desiccant usage specifications, residual fuel use notifications per DAFI 24-602, and references to technical drawings and work packages. Multiple Engineered or Specialized Container entries (PACRNs AAF, ABE, ABF, ABH, ABI, ABK, and ACK) require Container Design and Retrieval System (CDRS) compliance with DI-PACK-80683 and DI-PACK-80684 documentation, subject to Contracting Officer written approval. The specification accommodates items ranging from small components weighing under one pound to large assemblies exceeding 800 pounds, with unit pack cubes varying from 0.058 to 43.715 cubic feet.
