About this file
This is an appendix to a Performance Work Statement (PWS) for T56 engine maintenance and overhaul operations, effective 06 December 2024, that specifies exemptions from Material Review Board (MRB) disposition requirements.
The document outlines seven categories of material that are exempt from MRB disposition by the Government and may be dispositioned to scrap when determined to meet specified criteria and fall beyond Technical Order (T.O.) overhaul reparable limits through Contractor local engineering review. Exempt materials include: (a) material with replacement cost less than $5,000; (b) superseded or replaced configurations, specifically non-rub-tolerant 2nd and 3rd stage T56-A15 turbine vanes, non-stiffened main diaphragms, Hastelloy C T56-A15 turbine vane cases, and prop shaft seals and nose bearing plates identified by part numbers; (d) bearings; (e) electrical components rejected for electrical test criteria lacking T.O. rework specifications; (f) Consumable Floating Material (CFM) except parts and assemblies with life limits; and (g) common hardware including brackets, fasteners, and 100% replacement items such as seals, packings, and O-rings. The Government reserves the right to revise or update the exemption list based on evolving requirements, and deviations to MRB review requirements may be identified and finalized by the Procuring Contracting Officer (PCO) or Administrative Contracting Officer (ACO).
