About this file

This document contains a pre-construction checklist and federal contract opportunity notice. The pre-construction checklist outlines requirements for a construction project, including submitting a schedule of costs within 10 days of notice to proceed, providing daily logs to the VA project manager, and complying with safety, change order, subcontractor, payroll, and correspondence standards. The related federal contract opportunity is a pre-solicitation notice for project 578-17-027 to replace steam pipes at the Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital. The 100% small business set-aside opportunity has an estimated value between $10-20 million and requires replacing steam pipes and constructing pipe racks and tunnels by a deadline of 730 calendar days from notice to proceed. Interested vendors must be registered in the System for Award Management and certified as an SBA-verified service-disabled veteran-owned small business.
