1. The purpose of this memorandum is to document the salient characteristics required of the “Brand Name or Equal” products.

2. The following items are listed in the attached “Brand Name or Equal” spreadsheet and the documentation is as follows:

1) Unit Masonry – Brick by Sioux City Brick & Tile. This product was selected as part of a larger overall finish palette. Alternate brick would need to match in material, color, pattern, and size.

2) Limestone Masonry by Indiana Limestone. This product was selected as part of a larger overall finish palette. Alternate limestone would need to match in material, color, pattern, and size.

3) Below-Grade Vertical Waterproofing by Soprema. Product is named to establish minimum quality, strength and performance ratings.

4) Metal Siding Panels by Reynolds. This product was selected as part of a larger overall finish palette. Alternate metal panels would need to match in material, color, pattern, size, and performance.

5) Sliding Exam Room Doors by AD Systems. Alternate product needs to match material, finish, size, profile, color and durability.

6) Curtain Wall System by Kawneer. Product is named to establish minimum quality, strength and performance ratings.

7) Exterior Glazing by Viracon. This product was selected as part of a larger overall finish palette. Alternate products would need to match in material, color, pattern, size, and performance.

8) Ceramic Tiling by Daltile, American Olean, and TEC. These products were selected as part of a larger overall finish palette. Alternate products would need to match in material, color, pattern, size, and performance.

9) Acoustical Ceiling Tile by Armstrong. Alternate tile needs to have similar appearance, profile, and composition, and meet or exceed the acoustic properties of the specified product.

10) Resilient Base by Roppe and Shannon Specialty. Alternate material would need to match in size, thickness, profile, and color.

11) Resilient Sheet Flooring by Shannon Specialty. This product was selected as part of a larger overall finish palette. Alternate material would need to meet or exceed compression strengths, slip resistance, stain resistance, and other durability defining characteristics. Colors and patterns need to match those specified.

12) Resilient Tile Flooring by Parterre and Roppe. This product was selected as part of a larger overall finish palette. Alternate material would need to meet or exceed compression strengths, slip resistance, stain resistance, and other durability defining characteristics. Colors and patterns need to match those specified.

13) Carpeting by Philadelphia Commercial. This product was selected as part of a larger overall finish palette. Alternate product would need to be complimentary to overall project color palette. Additionally, product needs to be similar in pile height and density and needs to meet or exceed the performance characteristics and the warranty period.

14) Vinyl-Coated Fabric Wallcovering by DL Couch. Alternate product needs to match in color, pattern and style, and meet or exceed material thickness and durability ratings.

15) Paint by Sherwin Williams. Color was selected as part of an overall finish palette.

Alternate product needs to match selected color, sheen and VOC values.

16) Quartz Surfaces by Wilsonart, Formica, and Avonite. The countertop product was selected as part of a larger overall finish palette. Alternate products would need to match the color and proportions of the binder and aggregate and meet or exceed the specified characteristics for strength and stain resistance.

17) Plastic Laminate by Laminart and Wilsonart. These products were selected as part of a larger overall finish palette. Product is to be a high-pressure laminate, HGL Horizontal Grade. Alternate materials would need to match in performance, quality, pattern, color, texture, and species of wood grain (where applicable).

18) Wall Panels by CS Acrovyn and Parterre. Alternate product needs to match material, finish, gauge and size.

19) Corner Guard by CS Acrovyn and Korogard. Alternate product would need to match in material, finish, gauge and size.

20) Crash Rails by CS Acrovyn. Alternate product would need to match in material, finish, profile and gauge.

21) Metal Lockers by Patterson Pope. Alternate product would need to match in color, size, material, finish and durability.

22) Foundation Water Stop by Sika. Product is named to establish minimum quality, strength and performance ratings.

23) Steel Areawell Grating by McNichols. Product is named to establish minimum quality, strength and performance ratings.

24) Concrete Anchors/Dowels by Hilti, Dayton Superior, and Erico, Inc. Alternate products must meet the size, strength, tension, shear, fastening type, material, IBC compliance and specified performance requirements.

25) Wall Anchors by Homman Barnard. Alternate products must meet the size, strength, tension, shear, fastening type, material, IBC compliance and specified performance requirements.

26) Duplex Sump Pumps by Crane/Barnes. Product is named to establish minimum quality, strength and performance ratings.

27) Inline Recirculating Hot Water Pump by Taco. Product is named to establish minimum quality, strength and performance ratings.

28) Cabinet Unit Heater by Modine. Product is named to establish minimum quality, strength and performance ratings.

29) Fans by Greenheck. Product is named to establish minimum quality, strength and performance ratings.

30) Louver by Greenheck. Product is named to establish minimum quality, strength and performance ratings.

31) Sounds Attenuator by Vibro Acoustics. Product is named to establish minimum quality and performance ratings.

32) Single Duct Air Terminals by Price. Product is named to establish minimum quality, strength and performance ratings.

33) HVAC Diffusers by Price. Alternate product would need to match in color, size, material, finish and durability.

34) VFD by ABB. Product is named to establish minimum quality, strength and performance ratings.

35) Steam Safety Relief Valve by Watson-McDaniel. Product is named to establish minimum quality, strength and performance ratings.

36) Steam Pressure Regulating Valve by Watson-McDaniel. Product is named to establish minimum quality, strength and performance ratings.

37) Steam Trap by Watson-McDaniel. Product is named to establish minimum quality, strength and performance ratings.

38) Electrical Receptacles by Hubbell. Product is named to establish minimum quality and performance ratings.

39) Light Fixtures by FC Lighting, Lithonia, Halo, Prescolite, Contech Lighting, Beacon, GE Evolve, Columbia, HE Williams, Metalux, Luminair LED, Failsafe, Lamaer, Sure-Lites, Dual-Lite, and Emergi-Lite. Manufacturers are listed to establish product quality, function and appearance.

40) Panelboards by Eaton. Product is named to establish minimum quality and performance ratings.

41) Telecom Faceplates by Leviton. Product is named to establish minimum quality and performance ratings.

42) Audio Speakers by Lowell. Product is named to establish minimum quality and performance ratings.

43) Site Concrete Admixture by Scofield. Alternate product would need to match in color, size, material, finish and durability.
