About this file

This is a submittal package for the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center IR Lab Project, dated July 18, 2025, containing technical specifications, drawings, and pre-installation guides for surgical lighting and equipment management systems.

The project involves installation of Hillrom surgical equipment including HELUX PRO ceiling-mounted surgical lights, flat panel systems, booms, and Equipment Management Systems (EMS) with a 12-inch interstitial span at the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center in Florida. The submittal package includes a Customer Order Authorization Release Form requiring signature approval with a standard 16-week lead time from signed documents to delivery. The package specifies service selections for brake type (electric brakes standard), gas latch valve type (Tri-Tech manufactured), wire type (normal TEW-105 or isolated XHHW options), duplex outlet types (Leviton red or ivory hospital grade 20A), handle selections (sterilizable handles required), and video monitor specifications. Four equipment configurations are detailed: an anesthesia boom with 32-inch flat panel bracket, two Philips monitor booms with Helux Pro surgical lights and radiation shields, and an equipment boom. Pre-installation guides address structural mounting requirements with design loads up to 9,200 N (2,067 lbf) and bending moment of 12,500 Nm, deflection criteria limiting horizontal deflection to 0.1 inches and angular deflection to 1/3 degree, electrical conduit requirements not exceeding three feet from transformer enclosures to light mounts, medical gas riser installation per NFPA 99C standards, and ceiling rough opening specifications of 14.5 by 14.5 inches for surgical lights and 24.5 by 24.5 inches for EMS systems. The contractor is responsible for structural mounting plate installation, transformer enclosure mounting, electrical and gas supply line installation, and interface plate assembly, while Hillrom provides equipment and final installation services.
