About this file
This is a submittal package for the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center IR Lab Project, a medical equipment installation for surgical lights, booms, tables, and video integration systems provided by Hillrom/Baxter Surgical. The package includes equipment specifications, service selections, technical drawings, and pre-installation guides for the facility located in West Palm Beach, Florida.
The project specifies four primary equipment components: (A) 2130MML0 & V600H Anesthesia Boom with 32" flat panel bracket; (B) 2300MHLPH & HP190H Philips Monitor Boom with Helux Pro and radiation shield; (C) 2130MHLPH & HP190H Philips Monitor Boom with Helux Pro and radiation shield; and (D) 1865MHL3 Equipment Boom. The submittal includes detailed service selections for brake type (electric standard, with nitrogen gas or instrument air options), gas latch valve types (Tri-Tech manufactured, with Beacon Medaes available at additional charge), wire type (normal TEW-105 or isolated XHHW), duplex outlet types (Leviton red or ivory standard hospital grade 20A), and light/flat panel handle selections (sterilizable handles required). The standard lead time from signed authorization to delivery is 16 weeks. Pre-installation guides specify structural design loads of 2,148 N (485 lbs) maximum force and 3,104 Nm (2,290 ft-lb) maximum bending moment for surgical lights, with maximum horizontal deflection not exceeding 0.1" and angular deflection not exceeding 1/3°. The ceiling-mounted system requires a 14.5" x 14.5" rough opening with 5" mounting plate clearance above finished ceiling and 9" support substructure clearance. Equipment Management System (EMS) mounting systems require a 12" interstitial span and 24.5" x 24.5" ceiling opening. Medical gas risers, transformer enclosures, electrical conduit runs not exceeding 3 feet, and junction boxes are specified, with installation performed by the contractor while ceilings remain open. The package establishes customer responsibilities for site preparation, proper ceiling height confirmation, and scheduling installation services minimum 2 weeks in advance after site readiness verification.
