About this file
This document is a Justification for Single Source Awards form for the Department of Veterans Affairs, specifically for a fire alarm system procurement at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center (VAMC). The project involves installing new fire alarms, smoke detectors, and other components for the Sterile Processing Services (SPS) Equipment Site Prep, with a construction project magnitude between $2,000,000 and $5,000,000. The procurement requires Gamewell/FCI Components for the fire alarm system, which are necessary to integrate with the existing NFPA-listed system and are the only acceptable manufacturer due to compatibility requirements. The justification emphasizes that market research was conducted, and the Minneapolis VA fire alarm system exclusively uses Gamewell/FCI Components, making this a sole-source procurement under FAR 13.106-1.
