About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for the SPS Equipment Site Preparation project at the Minneapolis VA Campus, solicitation number 36C26325B0023. The project involves renovation and construction work in a VA hospital facility, with a 330-calendar day performance period. Key project requirements include strict personnel role restrictions (no dual-hatting of roles like superintendent, SSHO, or quality control manager), specific ICRA (Infection Control Risk Assessment) containment protocols, and specialized work conditions such as off-hours shutdowns, fire watch requirements, and coordinated access with VA staff.

The Q&A addresses numerous technical and procedural details, including mandatory use of STARC panels for construction barriers, HEPA negative air exhaust specifications (must be vented directly outside), fireproofing repairs, and phased construction approach. The project involves work in specific hospital areas like SPS decontamination, cart washroom, and connecting hallways. Notable vendors mentioned include Johnson Controls International for building automation, John Bean Technologies for robot vendor services, and FireNet for fire alarm systems. The contractor will be responsible for coordinating with VA representatives, managing temporary access, relocating equipment, and ensuring compliance with detailed specification requirements across multiple construction phases.
