About this file

This document is a comprehensive technical specification for a construction project at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center involving the site preparation for Sterile Processing Services (SPS) equipment replacement. The project, designated VA Project #618-CSI-240, is a set-aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) construction firms with an estimated contract value between $2-5 million under the NAICS code 236220.

The technical specifications cover multiple construction divisions including architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work for renovating the SPS space. Key components include demolition of existing areas, installation of new equipment, modifications to walls and ceilings, updates to mechanical and electrical systems, and preparation of surfaces for new equipment. The specifications provide detailed requirements for materials, installation methods, quality control, testing, and finish standards, with specific attention to infection control, safety protocols, and healthcare facility renovation procedures. The project aims to upgrade the current SPS infrastructure to accommodate replacement of Steris Medivators and Cart Washers.
