About this file
This is an electrical details drawing for the Portland International Airport in Oregon, specifically for the Taxiway K West Gates E3 to E6 and Vehicle Service Road Rehabilitation project (PDX 2026-5). The drawing provides specifications for temporary airfield lighting circuit connections and conductor protection measures required during the rehabilitation work. The project involves installation of traffic delineators with reflective tape, battery-powered or battery/solar-powered red lens omni-directional barricade lights, temporary 5kV conductors housed in 2-inch PVC conduit with expansion couplings at 100-foot intervals, and "Danger Energized High Voltage" warning signs. Circuit identifier labels must be placed every 20 feet along the conduit, and ULINE flagtags with tie-wraps are required at 20-foot intervals to mark circuits. The drawing was prepared by Chris Edwards and drawn by M. Tieaskie, checked by M. Dettmer, and submitted by S. Perry in October 2026, with design certification by registered professional engineer Sergio Leguire Perry dated March 14, 2017, with an expiration date of December 31, 2026.
Key specifications include the use of galvanized conduit straps to secure conduits to vault tops and the requirement for GRSC conduit instead of PVC for the first 5 feet from vault connections, then transitioning to PVC. Port Electrical Maintenance drawings showing temporary circuit routings must be provided, and copies of temporary circuit route drawings and locked-out circuit listings must be posted at the Airfield Lighting Regulator Vault and updated when changes occur. The drawing indicates that conduit connections require proper identification marking with permanent markers to distinguish all circuits within the temporary conduit. Additional infrastructure includes airport water-filled low-level barricades with lights and traffic delineators positioned strategically throughout the work zone.

NOTES:
1. INSTALL ULINE FLAGTAGS WITH TIE-WRAPS AT 20' INTERVAL. INDICATE WITH PERMANENT MARKER ALL
CIRCUITS WITHIN THE TEMPORARY CONDUIT.
2. PROVIDE PORT ELECTRICAL MAINTENANCE DRAWINGS SHOWING ROUTINGS OF THE TEMPORARY CIRCUITS. ADDITIONALLY, POST A COPY OF THE TEMPORARY CIRCUIT ROUTE DRAWINGS AND LISTING OF LOCKED OUT CIRCUITS AT THE AIRFIELD LIGHTING REGULATOR VAULT. UPDATE INFORMATION
WHEN CHANGES ARE MADE.
3. FOR CONDUIT CONNECTIONS TO VAULT TOPS, USE GRSC CONDUITS INSTEAD OF PVC FOR THE FIRST
5 FEET FROM THE VAULT THEN TRANSITION TO PVC, SECURE CONDUITS TO VAULT TOPS WITH
SUITABLE GALVANIZED CONDUIT STRAPS AND PROTECT THE GRSC CONDUITS FROM VAULT LIDS.
