Interactive to be removable to allow access to the display case behind

- there is no reset mechanism.
While Napoleon sold the Louisiana
Territory much like people sell property today, people living in the territory had no knowledge or say in the matter. Their lives were directly affected by the decisions and actions of a select few, far away.
This interactive encourages empathy with individuals in the past.

1# spare. Beaver furs gathered by fur companies in St. Louis were distributed to hat-making manufacturers, then hats were sent on to markets in North America and
Europe. Beaver furs and felt top hats in particular played an important role in the development of the U.S., and with the growth of
St. Louis. Trading furs made the
Chouteau family (Auguste picture here) a wealthy and powerful family at this time. Visitors touch a replica hat, as the final step in the hat-making process described with objects in the display case. They can consider the relationship between economics and the environment for such a key fashion trend and status symbol.
