About this file
This Task Group Instruction (TGI) details a valve replacement project for the USS Blue Ridge. The task involves replacing a Collecting, Holding, and Transfer (CHT) Waste Cutout Valve (COV) in multiple ship locations, including the Division Officer's Office, Crew Work and Decontamination Stations, and Crew Messroom. The existing valve from Cooper Industries Inc. will be replaced with a new valve from Cunico Corporation, which meets MIL-V-24509 specification.
The project is scheduled to start on 7/21/2026 and complete by 11/21/2027, with specific technical requirements including valve cycling, remote operating gear connection, and gasket installation. SRF-JRMC will provide government-furnished material and services, including crane and utility services, safety inspections, and quality assurance. The task requires Level III cleanliness standards for piping systems and involves multiple reference documents for guidance, with a total of two material items ordered: one plug valve and one rubber sheet.
