Specification Section 33 11 00 requires Hydrostatic Testing, Leakage Testing and Special Testing requirements including hydrostatic pressure of not less than 200 psi for no less than 2 hours. The Mechanical drawings indicate that the 6" Fresh Water line is to be removed and stored for re-installation (i.e. reuse). Without knowing the condition of the existing Fresh water line or the last time it was tested, please advise on potential remedies for the reinstalled water line test failures should they occur.

Per Specification Section 33 11 00

“FRESH WATER UTILITY

DISTRIBUTION PIPING” the piping material is ductile piping, and per

SECTION 02 41 00 DEMOLITION

AND DECONSTRUCTION,

Paragraph 3.6 REUSE OF SALVAGED ITEMS Recondition salvaged materials and equipment designated for reuse before installation. Replace items damaged during removal and salvage operations or restore them as necessary to usable condition.

Contractor shall recondition the ductile pipe (i.e. replace all joined gasket/rubber ring/etc.), replace any damaged items during removal & storage, etc., before commencing reinstallation of the 6” Fresh water.

C-503

Drawing C-503 shows inlet protection and silt fence details, but there are no drawings that show the locations for installation. Please provide overall drawings for silt fence and inlet protection locations.

Fence locations and sediment control shall be determined by the contractor based on the limits of site disturbance, soil stockpiles, etc. See specification section 01 57 19.

What is the loading criteria of the existing pier 31/ bents? What equipment loading can be utilized for construction activities?

The existing Pier 31 bents were designed based on various load combinations included on the reference drawings and assuming composite action of the cap / deck. The contractor shall provide calculations for loading of the piers depending on the state of demolition or construction and the pier bent section that is present at the time to ensure the pier bents are not overstressed for the intended contractor's loading.

What is the loading criteria for Pier 10? What equipment loading can be utilized for construction activities?

The loads are indicated on the Pier 10 record dwgs in appendix A1.

However, they are largely unreadable.

Based on the readable information, the design live loads are 600 psf, AASHTO H20 truck load, and crane outrigger loads of various magnitudes based on pick radius. The contractor shall determine equipment based on the 600 psf live load and H20 truck loads.

What is the loading criteria for Pier 17? What equipment loading can be utilized for construction activities?

The pier 17 design loads are indicated in the appendix A1 on the Pier 17 record dwgs. The contractor shall determine equipment based on its' loading.

CN107 /

CN301

In regards to the phasing of the alternates for the Pier 10 demo and dredging, how does this dredging coincide with the contract dredging of Pier 31 and turning basin?

Does all material under/adjacent to Pier 10 need to be place in CAD cell prior to balance of dredge from in all 3 areas (P31, basin, and P10)? (Sheet CN107/Sheet CN301- Note 2).

Assuming Pier 10 option is awarded the dredge material shall be placed as indicated in note 2. "Dredge areas adjacent / underneath piers"

SD104

Photograph in SD606, Detail A1 & A3 and Drawing SD104 show the CWTA Demo of Fender system as a timber fender system mounted to the concrete fascia. Drawing SD303 appears to show the fender system differently from the photo on SD606 as a fiberglass Pile with Arch Fender. Please clarify which is correct.

Both dwgs SD 104 and SD606 are correct. The existing fender system is timber facing mounted to steel H piles.

There is an arch fender connecting the H pile to the concrete fascia. See also A4/SD606 for additional information.

Drawing E- 106 & E-403

Regarding the Grounding and attachment to the piles as shown on Detail A2 and A4 on Drawing E- 403, it is not clear to which piles and how many piles we are to ground to.

Based on Drawing E-106 it appears the existing pier section between Bents 1 through 24 already has an embedded grounding wire that is already connected to the existing piles. Are we only to connect new

Bond to the two seel piles in the locations shown on E-106 and the six locations shown on E-403 grounding wire to the new piles in Pile Rows A and E only at bents 25 through 28 (in other words 8 piles)?
