Impact Level 4
Impact Level 4 (IL-4) cloud services can be offered on any of the four deployment models. Information that may be processed and stored at Impact 4 can be processed on-premises or off-premises, as long as the physical location of the information is restricted as described in Section 5.2.1, Jurisdiction/Location Requirements.
For a Level 4 PA, the CSP must provide evidence of strong virtual separation controls and monitoring in support of the ability to meet “search and seizure” requests for non-DoD information and data without the release of DoD information and data and vice-versa. Additionally the strong virtual separation controls must prevent/mitigate/eliminate the potential vulnerability whereby one CSP customer using the same physical hardware as another CSP customer can gain access to the other’s information/data, virtual network, or virtual machines. Monitoring must detect such unauthorized accesses and/or attempts so that incident response can occur.

Parts Management
Three concepts are involved in Parts Management as outlined below:
Alternate part—a part that possesses functional and physical characteristics so as to be equivalent in performance, reliability, and maintainability to an original design part without selection for fit or performance. An alternate part should be subject to the same part selection review and approval process as the original design part and should be included on the BOM.
Substitute part—a part that possesses functional and physical characteristics so as to be capable of being exchanged with the design part only under specified conditions, or in particular applications, without alteration of the parts themselves or adjoining items. Substitute parts should be reviewed and approved in accordance with PMP requirements.
Superseding part—a part deemed desirable for use as a replacement part for the original design part (which becomes the superseded part). A superseding part meets all requirements of an alternate part, but is used exclusively in lieu of the original design part.

Procurement Data Package
Data are typically delivered in procurement data packages, which include documentation prepared expressly for the identification, description and verification of items, materials, supplies, and services that are to be purchased, inspected, packaged, and packed and supplied or delivered to users. A procurement data package provides data necessary to control design, engineering, performance, and quality of an item sufficient to ensure functional and physical adequacy of the item for its intended application.
A standard data package is generally referred to as the Technical Data Package (TDP). As indicated in the Configuration Management subsection of this guidebook, PMs must decide early in the process whether or not the TDP will need to be purchased from a contractor. The TDP includes data used for identification and quantity determination(s) of spare and repair parts necessary to support and maintain end items of material for specified periods. These data are also used in the cataloging process and contractual formalization of item quantities. In addition to specific elements of cataloging, engineering, maintenance and supply support data, the TDP contains provisioning information such as piece part relationship to next higher components and assemblies, prices of parts, parts population, and replacement and overhaul factors.

Product Structure
A product structure is a method of identifying all raw materials, components, and subassemblies in a product. Recorded as a single-level relationship between a parent item and component, a product structure determines when and how many component items are needed. A product structure may also be called a bill of material, parts list, or formula.
A product structure is a listing of all the subassemblies, components, and raw materials going into a parent assembly, with the quantity of each required to make one assembly.
QAD, Introduction to Product Structures and Formulas
Product Structure Codes
Product structure codes need to be defined only when you to create a product structure that does not use the item master record of the item being produced as the parent item. …Link them to the item number of the parent, either in Item Planning Maintenance or Item- Site Planning Maintenance, if they are to be used for costing, planning, or manufacturing. Once defined, they can be used like an item number in the system
• Product structure codes can be used anywhere in the product structure that item numbers can be used
– Use them to create alternate structures
Product Structure codes that do not correspond to parent items enable you to create alternate structures for manufacturing the same product with different components.

Technical Order
Air Force procedures developed or acquired for performance of organic operation, maintenance, inspection, modification, or management (exclusive of administrative procedures) of centrally-acquired and managed Air Force systems or commodities.
TOs include paper and digital media developed to Technical Manual Specifications and Standards (TMSS), non-embedded personal computer software which automates the function directed by a TO without duplicating functionality of other Air Force Systems, contractor-developed manuals adopted for Air Force use, and approved commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) manuals.
The term ―Technical Order (TO) is equivalent to the DOD term ―Technical Manual ™.
