About this file
This document contains responses to questions from a Request for Information regarding a roofing and ceiling project. The responses provide details on the existing EPDM roof manufacturer and clarify that during Phase I of the project, the ceiling in the kitchen and dining area associated with Air Handling Unit 3 will be removed and reinstalled to allow for ductwork, but will not be demolished and replaced. The work will occur after hours and the ceiling will be reinstalled each night to avoid interference with daytime operations.
The related federal contract opportunity is a Solicitation for an Indefinite-Delivery Indefinite-Quantity construction contract to provide mechanical and electrical maintenance support at Robins Air Force Base, Georgia. Services under the contract will include HVAC, controls, plumbing, electrical, and fire suppression system repairs, renovations, upgrades and replacements. The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Lifecycle Management Center at Robins AFB is the contracting agency.

Request for Information #6
1. Since the EPDM roof over the kitchen is currently under warranty, can you provide information on the current EPDM product? Manufacturer?
Answer: The manufacturer is Duro-Last. Reference RFI #4 question #3 for additional information.
2. This previous response to RFI did not answer the question. Is the ACT ceiling in the kitchen and dining area to be demolished and replaced during Phase I? 6. 01 65 00 Phasing, 3.01, B.
3. Says that, during Phase I, ducts that exist in the Phase II area and are associated with AHU-3, will be cleaned, resealed and reinsulated during non-regular hours. 01 00 50 1.01, D., 1., h.“Remove and replace ceiling systems to facilitate the HVAC work required.” Can you confirm that, during Phase I, the ceiling in the Phase II area associated with AHU-3 is to be demolished and replaced to allow duct access? To occur during non-regular hours.
Answer: Phasing as specified is correct
Answer: The Phase I work with AHU-3 includes removing the EXISTING ceiling (contained in Phase II work area) to accommodate duct access but this work will be done after hours and in increments that allow the EXISTING ceiling to be reinstalled and ready for use the following day. Contractor is to only remove what can be reinstalled that same night so that it doesn’t interfere with day operations. Note that during the Phase I duct work in the kitchen and dining area the ceilings are NOT to be demolished and replaced with new ceilings instead they are to be removed and reinstalled only to accommodate the Phase I duct work.
The new ceiling system for the areas, in question, will still be installed during the Phase II work.
