About this file
This is an Individual Acknowledgement and Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) form for compliance with Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Iwakuni photography regulations (MCASO 3070.2B).
The document establishes security protocols governing photography activities at MCAS Iwakuni due to the installation's increased strategic resources and elevated adversary interest. Individuals must acknowledge understanding of eleven specific photography restrictions by initialing each item. Prohibited activities include photography of sensitive areas (flight line, port area, restricted zones), personnel and vehicle entry/exit points, critical infrastructure (utility lines, communication nodes, force protection structures, fuel farms, magazine storage), combat aircraft loading operations, flight line movement areas, and taxiing commercial aircraft. Use of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), drones, and radio-controlled aircraft for any photography of MCAS Iwakuni without written authorization from the Commanding Officer is prohibited. In-car cameras must be turned off or covered while aboard the installation. Authorized photographs taken within restricted areas are classified as Controlled Unclassified Information and cannot be shared publicly or privately via emails, text messages, social media, or other means without written permission from designated command authorities. The order applies to all Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) personnel, Japan Self Defense Force members, contractors, and other personnel aboard MCAS Iwakuni, with applicability extending to conduct outside the installation. Violations may result in administrative actions and/or criminal penalties. Individuals must report violations to the MCAS Iwakuni Security Manager at DSN 315-253-2027 or MCAS.Iwakuni.SMO@usmc.mil, with failure to report constituting a violation itself. The signatory certifies understanding of the order and associated requirements by providing printed name, contact information, and signature with date in DDMMYYYY format.
